Back to School Expansion Update: August 2019

And as we embark on year two of our high school expansion, Summit will continue to grow the unique LEAD program, positioning our students to develop their sense of purpose as leaders in their school and community through service learning, field studies, and personalized learning. Our rising freshmen will attend the 2nd annual ninth grade orientation in Wyoming, setting the foundation for a four-year experiential, individualized leadership development program that includes monthly field studies in our community and natural surroundings. Additionally, we will focus on developing our academic program to ensure all Summit graduates are prepared for success in college. It is our goal and expectation that 100% of our graduates leave Summit with high-quality college and career options--including the opportunity to attend and succeed in a college that matches their unique profile. We will launch our first Advanced Placement (AP) course this year--AP World History--and set in place foundations to grow our AP offerings in 11th and 12th grade as we grow each year. Furthermore, we are thrilled to share updates on our construction progress: Summit Center The Summit Center is ready for the 2019-20 school year! In addition to serving K-10 students with a fully-equipped gym and performance area, the 18,656 square foot building includes state-of-the-art classrooms for music and art education. This building will provide much-needed space for our students, faculty, and the community at large. The opportunities are endless! High School The construction of the high school building is complete and the high school classrooms will be ready within the next few weeks, as furniture is put into place. Teachers, students, staff, and friends of Summit have put in countless hours getting the building ready since the groundbreaking. We can't thank our supporters and volunteers enough for coming together to strengthen our school and community to create the best learning environment for our children. Grand Opening: September 26, 2019 As we enter the final stage of our construction, we are excited to officially announce that the grand opening event of Summit's new facilities will take place on Thursday, September 26th. More details will be announced at Chloe's Lemon-aid Stand for Education Reveal on Friday, August 30th at 8:45 AM. We hope to see you then!
